Summary – Ruthmere Museum Campus seeks a qualified and enthusiastic permanent part-time team member for the position of Support Staff. The Support Staff member is supervised by Senior Staff and is responsible for giving tours, helping with weekend site management at Ruthmere and Havilah Beardsley House, assists with weddings, teas and special events, and provides vacation support.
Required Skills
*Must possess exceptional customer service and people skills.
*Must present a professional, welcoming image to the visiting public.
*Strong written and communications skills required.
*Must be able to effectively communicate a passion for history, art, and culture and become well-versed in leading tours.
*Must have reliable transportation to and from place of employment.
*Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs in the routine tasks of helping with set up and take down of equipment at special events, moving and setting up folding chairs, tables, beverage coolers, etc.
*Experience in education, arts and culture or customer service field preferred, passion for history, arts and culture required.
*College degree preferred, but not required with equivalent experience.
Duties
*Coordinate tours with other staff members and volunteers between two sites.
*Operate cash register and manage phone lines efficiently and accurately.
*Provide written reports of activities and accomplishments.
*Assist with other pertinent responsibilities as assigned.
*Up to 15 hours per week during normal weeks. Additional hours available when filling in for staff vacations.
Compensation, Benefits and Start Date
*$15 per hour, or commensurate with experience. Possible additional income opportunity for individual with writing acumen and desire to write grants.
*Health reimbursement plan.
*11 Paid Holidays. Vacation and Personal Time eligible.
*Start date planned for mid-August, 2023, (flexible) to begin training.
