Robert Buchanan Beardsley (1933-2021) was the Founding Director of Ruthmere Museum. The great-great-nephew of Albert (A.R.) and Elizabeth Beardsley, the original owners of Ruthmere, Robert brought his lifetime of experience in art and historic preservation to revitalize the mansion. On September 8, 1973, Robert's fortieth birthday, he presided over the grand opening of Ruthmere as a museum, with Indiana Governor Otis Bowen in attendance. Robert passed away on June 1, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving behind a legacy that ensures the Beardsley story will continue for everyone to enjoy.

Mark Doddington, a native of Laurel, Maryland, has served as Ruthmere's Membership Coordinator since 2016. In addition, he serves as the museum's Concert Coordinator, Accounts Receivable Manager, Donations Manager, and Site Manager. He also oversees the annual Robert Buchanan Beardsley Piano Prize Competition, and gives tours of the mansion every chance he gets.

Mark has a B.A. in American Literature and Creative Writing from Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York. He currently lives in the Beardsley Avenue Historic District, a short walk from Ruthmere.
